A Princess once told me [This is War]

her gorgeous brown eyes shining with the beauty of spring
her long black hair alive with the softness of wind
her honest smile that broke and mended my heart
she knew the beginning and the end of life
she knew everything in between
she knew my failure and success
she knew what would get lost and found
before i could even digress.
she sang to me with a kind and caring voice
during those nights that were ready to start a hunt, so long
but she wasnt afraid to shout and stain her hands with blood
cause she knew there would be no victory without evil fun
her delicate touch and stars made of silk
she knew everything had a price if you wanted to win
cause experience told her time would fight pain
she had seen countless decades, all of them plain
because no one could really understand what she wanted to say
even with distrust, silence and ice in her veins
she knew this was her place to fight from the last to the first
protecting what she held dear and would give up everything for
she knew life was not eternal
she knew time sometimes lied with a smile
she knew everything would be somehow taken away
if at the last minute, you couldnt break it and offer it yourself
so in the end, that's what she did
she wouldnt erase a life full of memories
like at the beginning she had planned, no
she'd take that last knife hidden
and with it, invited me to fight.
she was the very first person who looked at me and saw what i saw
the reality i could convey and all the tales told
a legend to be made and a past to accept
cause she knew, she told me and she knew,
your own self would be your worst enemy and your only friend
a blade ready to slice through those times made of grey
only if you could ask her in the right way,
forgetting your own ego and presenting yourself
cause we're not weak, but sometimes need help
and she would look at us from above holding my neck
a smile, always a smile, and she would murder
a tear, always a tear, and she  could kill
however, words made of stardust, galaxies and a promise to keep
to her heart, sword and mind would talk and make a wish.
she knew, she once told me and she knew
that i'd lose a battle to win the war
and with a self sufficient smile i'd reply
"this to me wont happen again"
but she knew, she once told me and she knew
she'd see me again, laying at her feet asking for mercy
with cold dead eyes and barely a pulse
but always ready to give everything for a cause
a ridiculous cause, a meaningless reason and a misguided advice
however, not even a broken bone, time or distance could keep me a prisoner
because we all knew we were being chased by a blood thirsty sunrise
to the edge of the world, from the ocean and the sea and the end of the sky
she knew, she once told me and she knew,
i'd see her again after we were over with war
who would have known she was always right
because the worst enemy is forever time
and holding on to mist while creating a mask
despite the hurt, the pain and the overall despair
there's only one thing that would never fail
a princess once told me...
what we can find beyond the stars
has always been within us, ready to fight.
maybe we would all go, maybe we were always searching
for that thing that alone we couldnt find
maybe we would never know the entire truth
but she knew, she once told me and she knew
that it would be alright.
"take my hand and for the first time you will see
a brave new world has been waiting, with you, to live".
